HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – With the 2020-21 season already beginning to hit full stride, the Northern Kentucky volleyball team will play the first of four home series against Cleveland State. Matches are slated for Feb. 8 and 9 at Regents Hall. First serve will be at 6 p.m. on Monday and 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

• Following a bye during the opening weekend of the season, the Norse dropped a pair of three-set decisions at Wright State.
• Northern Kentucky hosts Cleveland State in the first home matches of the season.
• NKU is 7-10 all-time versus CSU, but has won the last four meetings in the series.
• NKU had 423 days between matches, lasting from Dec. 6, 2019 until its match versus Wright State on Feb. 1, 2021. It will have waited an even lengthier 456 days between home contests (Nov. 10, 2019-Feb. 8, 2021).
• NKU ranks third in the country in attacks per set (42.5) and fifth in digs per set (19.67).
• NKU is coming off of a 19-13 season in which it won the Horizon League Tournament championship and played in its first-ever NCAA Tournament.
• NKU also earned its first top-50 RPI finish, checking in at No. 49 in the final rankings of the 2019 season. In the first ranking of the 2019 season, NKU was 43rd, which is its highest ever.
• NKU defeated Cincinnati last year, which was receiving votes in the AVCA Poll, 3-2. It marks NKU's best Division I win, as the Bearcats had an RPI of 24.
• The Norse were picked to finish second in the #HLVB Preseason Poll for the second-straight year, garnering three first-place votes and 111 points, one behind favorite Wright State.
• OH Anna Brinkmann is an All-Horizon League honoree that posted a 10-kill, 10-dig double-double in NKU's season-opener against Wright State.
• Brinkmann was also an AVCA All-North Region honoree, the second Norse to earn the honor.
• L/DS Ashton Terrill is coming off a campaign in which she earned her second-straight postseason accolade. She was named an all-league honorable mention in 2019 after being a first-team performer in 2018.
• Terrill is working her way up the Norse annals, scooping 1,655 digs in her career to rank 4th all-time at NKU. She is 21 away from No. 3 all-time.
• Terrill had 43 scoops in the opening series, averaging 7.17 digs per set, which ranks No. 2 in the nation.
• MB/OPP Abby Kanakry was both a Horizon League All-Freshman and All-Tournament honoree in 2019 after averaging 2.38 kills per set behind a .274 hitting percentage. She was also stout at the net with 0.69 blocks per set.
• Kanakry has four aces on the year so far and ranks 23rd in the country at 0.67 aces per set.
• OH Reilly Briggs returns for her second season with the Norse. Briggs was a #HLVB All-Freshman Team performer last year and is 15th in the nation in attacks (12.50) per set so far this season.
• S/RS Miranda Wucherer opened the 2020-21 campaign with back-to-back double-doubles against the Raiders, tallying 24 assists and 11 digs in match one and 19 assists and 10 digs in match two. She now has 27 double-doubles in her career.
