Highland Heights, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's and women's track & field will compete in the Rick Erdmann Twilight Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, hosted by Eastern Kentucky in Richmond, Kentucky. Friday's first event is at 11 a.m., and the first event Saturday is at 6 p.m.
The Norse are coming off of another stellar weekend with multiple first-place finishes at the Cherry Blossom Invitational on April 10. On the women's side,
Megan Cole claimed the top spot in the 5000m with a time of 19:20.87, winning by more than 38 seconds, while
Megan Sullivan picked up the second first-place finish in the 400m with a time of 58.35. NKU swept the podium in the 100m, with five top-six finishes from
Andrea Armstrong,
Jailyn Ross and
Emily Phillips claiming the top-three spots in order, while
Kayla Thompson and
Shaina Rutledge took fifth and sixth, respectively. Armstrong and Ross finished first and second in the 200m and
Maddie Frey won the 3000m steeplechase by more than seven seconds with a time of 11:48.85.
On the men's side, the team had top-10 finishes in the 5000m, with
Kyle Mastin placing second,
Nicholas Lee in seventh, Garret Ardis in eighth and
Ethan Ennis in ninth. In the 800m,
Jacob Weis posted the third-best finish, while
Dillon Perry followed in fourth place.
Cody Chism won the 300m steeplechase.
Rick Erdmann Twilight
- This is the first year competing in the Rick Erdmann Twilight for NKU.
- Twenty schools are expected to compete at the meet. Teams include host Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, Furman, Butler, Oklahoma State, Louisville, West Virginia, Northeastern, Eastern Michigan, Grand Valley State, Toledo, Loyola Chicago, Binghamton, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Bellarmine, Kennesaw State, Wright State, Miami (Ohio) and Lee (Tennessee).
- No spectators will be admitted into the event.
