HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Norse Nation, Men's Basketball season is here!
To keep the excitement going for a highly anticipated 2022-23 campaign that features the Norse taking a run at the Horizon League title, the Northern Kentucky men's basketball promotional schedule has been announced for the upcoming year.
Join in on the fun at Truist Arena this season with 10 promotional games that includes one-of-a-kind giveaways, halftime acts, and days to give back to the Kentucky community.
Monday, Nov. 7 vs Kent State, 7 PM ET, Military Appreciation Night
Wear White | Tickets
- After a long eight months off the court, NKU men's basketball returns to Truist Arena to open the season against MAC preseason favorite Kent State.
- The game will feature NKU's Military Appreciation Night, that includes pregame concourse tabling by various Northern Kentucky military resource groups and an in-game recognition for all active service members and veterans.
- All active service members and veterans
can still claim two free tickets to the game, with a discounted rate for any additional tickets.
- The first 1000 Northern Kentucky fans and supporters will receive a free #NorseTough t-shirt, courtesy of Ford.
- Fans are encouraged to join the rest of Norse Nation and wear white to the game in support of the Military Appreciation theme.
Wednesday, Nov. 16 vs Cincinnati, 7 PM ET, Gold Rush

- For the first time in school history, Cincinnati makes the trip over the bridge to take on NKU at Truist Arena.
- NKU students in attendance will receive a one-of-a-kind NKU basketball replica jersey, courtesy of DDX Transport.
- Fans are encouraged to arrive early as doors open at 5:30 PM ET to partake in Happy Hour on the concourse that includes $5 alcoholic beverage specials on select cans.
- For NKU students, a pre-game tailgate will be put on as well to get the party started early at Truit.
- Fans will want to stay in their seat for halftime as the Norse welcome Red Panda to center court for a special show, presented by Toyota.
- Fans are encouraged to join the rest of Norse Nation and wear NKU gold to the game in support of the Gold Rush theme, to gold out the arena against the Bearcats.
Sunday, Nov. 27 vs Tennessee Tech, 2 PM ET, Canned Food Drive

- NKU Athletics welcomes fans and supporters to participate in a Canned Food Drive, sponsored by Kroger.
- Bring a canned food or non-perishable item to the game to receive a ticket voucher to an upcoming game of your choice. All proceeds will go to benefit Fuel NKU, Northern Kentucky's on campus student operated food pantry.
- Halftime will feature a special show put on by the Indiana Pacers Power Pack, as they take to the air in a high energy dunk spectacle.
Wednesday, Dec. 14 vs Eastern Kentucky, 7 PM ET, Teddy Bear Toss

- NKU fans and supporters will want to bring a teddy bear to the game to partake in the Teddy Bear Toss at halftime. All collected bears will be donated to a selected NKY Health Organization.
- The teddy bears will be given to children who may have to spend extended time in a hospital.
- It isn't often we ask fans to throw things on the court, so bring in your bear to partake in a truly special night for a great cause.
- Fans and supporters who bring a bear to the game will receive a voucher to a future NKU contest and be entered in for a chance of win a flat screen TV.
Sunday, Dec. 18 vs Miami University (Hamilton), 2 PM ET, Jingle Bell Slam

- This non-conference clash will feature a Best Ugly Sweater contest where the winner goes home with an NKU gift basket and a Starbucks gift card.
- The contest will feature holiday music all game long and fans will want to keep their eyes out for a possible appearance from Ole St Nick. Come out to the game for yourself to see.
Thursday, Dec. 29 vs Wright State, 7 PM ET, 859 Night
Boone, Campbell, Grant + Kenton Counties Night | Tickets
- 859 Night will celebrate Boone, Campbell, Grant and Kenton county as the 859 community comes together to cheer on the Norse against rival Wright State, presented by Skyline Chili.
- Each county will have a timeout dedicated to their county where officials, organizations and leaders of each county will be recognized. Make sure to come out to support your local Kentucky county. To take part in the county group rate ticket deal and car wash care pack provided by Mike's Carwash, contact the NKU athletics ticket office at 859-572-7848.
-In addition, first 1000 fans in attendance will receive a replica NKU court fan towel of the new floor design.
Sunday, Jan. 8 vs Detroit Mercy, 2 PM ET, Alumni + Youth Game

- For Youth Day, all children in attendance wearing a jersey will receive free admission to the contest.
- All former men's basketball alumni are encouraged to come back and support the Norse Men's Basketball team. More details to follow from the Northern Kentucky coaching staff.
- A post game kids' clinic will also follow the game that includes a 30-minute, on-court session post game with various basketball drills and skills led by our men's basketball assistant coaches and student-athletes.
- The clinic will conclude with an autograph session.
Thursday, Jan. 19 vs Cleveland State, 7 PM ET, Academic Recognition Night

- Presented by Groen Family McDonalds all NKU student-athletes who have achieved a 3.0 GPA in the Fall 2022 or Spring 2021 will be recognized at halftime.
- All faculty and staff are also encouraged to attend the game and are provided a discounted ticket rate. More information will be hitting faculty and staff inboxes in the near future with the deal.
Saturday, Jan. 28 vs Milwaukee, 4 PM ET, NKU Homing Celebration

- It's a party as NKU Homecoming takes place against Horizon League foe Milwaukee.
- Students, plan on returning back home for the festivities with a party to kick of the Spring semester!
- Check the NKU Alumni Engagement and NKU Student Affairs website for a list of events and details that will be published in the near future.
Sunday, Feb. 12 vs IUPUI, 1 PM ET, Senior Day + Black History Month Celebration

- The Norse will end the season with their Senior Day celebration against IUPUI. Come out to Truist to celebrate the accomplishments both on and off the court of our NKU basketball student-athletes.
- The contest will also feature a Black History Month celebration in collaboration with NKU African American and Student Initiatives Office.
