HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Bob Sheehan announced the signing of two additional student-athletes to join the Northern Kentucky women's soccer team in the fall 2022. 

"We would like to welcome both Shannon and Maria to our program," said head coach Robert Sheehan. 

SHANNON CROGAN

• A 5-foot-6 striker, Crogan is a native of Mason, Ohio where she attended William Mason High School. 
• Saw incredible success during her high school career, including being named Second Team All-Greater Miami Conference in 2019. During her 2020 season, Crogan earned OHSSA Academic All-Southwest Ohio, First Team All-GMC, and was Second Team All-State. In 2021 she was named as a senior captain, along with being named First Team All-GMC, and earned the Mason HS Comet Award. She capped off her impressive high school career with an overall record of 51-10-13.
• Crogan also was a member of the track and field team while attending Mason High School.
• Crogan played for the club, Kings Hammer G04 Red where for three seasons was a member of an organization with a record of 46-4-14.
• She was a part of the team that captured the 2021 Ohio South State Cup Championship, along with winning the Gateway Cup Championship and the 2021 Crossroads of America Showcase Championship. 
• Crogan plans to pursue a degree in Nursing while attending Northern Kentucky University as well.

MARIA WIEFERING

• A 5-foot-5 forward, Wiefering is from Fort Thomas, Kentucky where she attended Highlands High School.
• Wiefering joins NKU after playing two seasons with fellow Horizon League member Wisconsin-Green Bay.
• During the spring of 2021, she started in all six games she appeared in totaling two points, nine shots, three shots on goal in 491 minutes played.
• Wiefering recorded her first collegiate goal on March 10 against Detroit Mercy.
• The fall of 2021 saw Wiefering starting in 14 overall games, while appearing in 15 total. She totaled two assists and two points while posting 16 overall shots, four of which were on goal.
• Her high school career was full of accolades which included being named best offensive player, most points (sophomore season), 110% award, Second Team All-State, First Team All-State, All-District selection, and was an All-Region selection. 
• Played for the club organization Cincinnati Development Academy (CDA), located in Cincinnati, Ohio prior to attending UW-Green Bay. 
• Wiefering will look to pursue a Psychology degree while attending Northern Kentucky.
