Natalie Newman earns #HLWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer senior Natalie Newman picked up weekly honors from the Horizon League on Monday, as she was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week after scoring both goals in NKU's 2-0 win over Bellarmine on Thursday.

"Congratulations to Natalie on a great performance this week," said Norse head coach Bob Sheehan. "Natalie came up big, scoring both the game-winning goal and the insurance goal in Thursday's victory. The game winner was a great finish off a well-placed skip by Kylie from a Kaps throw across the face of goal. Her second goal was an outstanding strike, finding the back-post side netting with excellent technique and composure, after picking up the second ball after a quality serve by Emma. Two quality finishes and a huge contribution to the team's success."

Newman now has four goals and an assist in four matches this season, and the Norse are 4-0 in matches she's appeared in. Newman and Northern Kentucky take on Cincinnati this Sunday, at 1 PM at NKU Soccer Stadium.
