ATHENS, Ga. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program put on one of its best performances in recent memory, but in the end Southeastern Conference power Georgia was able to walk off the Norse with a thrilling comeback as the Bulldogs collected a 7-6 victory over NKU at Foley Field on Saturday.

Liam McFadden-Ackman and
Mitch Wood paced the Norse with two RBI apiece, respectively. McFadden-Ackman finished the day 2-for-3 at the dish with a home run, two runs scored and two bases on balls. Wood added a 2-for-4 day that also included a homer to go along with a run scored.

Tyler Shaneyfelt was perfect at the plate with a 4-for-4 outing that featured two runs scored.

Jake Paulick continued his hot run in the series with a 1-for-4 day at the dish that included NKU's other RBI of the contest.

Treyvin Moss (1-for-6) also came around to score for the Norse.
- McFadden-Ackman and
Logen Devenport both recorded a stolen base.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a run in both the bottom of the second and third.
- The Norse answered right back and tied the game up at 2-2 with a run of their own in both the top of the fourth and fifth.
- NKU jumped ahead for the first time in the series with a three-run top of the eighth. Wood got things going with a solo shot to right which was quickly followed by a two-run blast to dead center by McFadden-Ackman to make it a 5-3 contest.
- The Bulldogs responded in the bottom half of the inning with a single run to cut the Norse lead to 5-3.
- NKU got what it thought was another insurance run in the top of the ninth to push its edge to 6-3.
- Georgia saved its best for last as the Bulldogs walked off Northern Kentucky with a three-run shot, followed by a walk-off solo blast to seal the 7-6 comeback win.

The Norse and Bulldogs conclude their three-game slate with the series-finale on Sunday, February 25. First pitch is set for 1 PM ET from Foley Field and
the contest will be played in front of a national audience on ESPN+.
