INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Following a pair of shutout victories, Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer senior
Megan Gessner was tabbed the Horizon League's player of the week on Monday.
"Congratulations to Megan for this well-deserved recognition," said Northern Kentucky head coach
Bob Sheehan. "Her work ethic, commitment, focus, and discipline have been inspiring."
Gessner has been lights out all season, leading the league in goals allowed, save percentage, and total shutouts. On Thursday against Purdue Fort Wayne, Gessner made a pair of saves in a 1-0 win. In Sunday's home victory over Detroit Mercy, the senior made five saves and notched her seventh clean sheet of the season. So far, Gessner has only allowed three goals in conference play.
Gessner and the Norse take on Youngstown State on Saturday, October 25 in a top-three clash in the Horizon League, with kickoff set for noon.
