HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Northern Kentucky University Norse Women's Basketball opened the 2025-26 season at Marshall, a matchup they've historically dominated. Entering Thursday, NKU had won seven of eight total matchups, but Marshall picked up their second win in the series with a dominant victory over the Norse.

- NKU had trouble all night inside the arc, shooting just 32.3% (11-34) on two-point attempts. The Norse shot a respectable 8-21 from outside, and sixth-year guard
Taysha Rushton led Northern Kentucky with 11 points and three made three-pointers.

Maddie Moody led the Norse with 33 minutes played and had a great start, making her first three shots, scoring seven points before the first media timeout. However, the Moody didn't score following her third make, ending the night with seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.

Mia Jordan reached double figures in scoring off the bench, going 5-9 from the field for ten points.
- Turnovers were the story of the game, as NKU recorded 20 to Marshall's 13. The Thundering Herd scored 23 points off those Norse turnovers.
