Men's Triathlon opens Spring slate at OSU

Columbus, OH- The spring season kicked off for the men's triathlon team with an Feb 8 race at Ohio State University.  The indoor triathlon consisted of a 10 min swim, 20 min indoor bike, and 15 min run on the 200m track at OSU's recreation center.   Leading the way for the Norse was Frederik Smal who finished in 6th place overall with an overall score of 62.20.  Will Griffith finished in 10th place overall with a score of 63.76 and Johannes Smal finished in 30th place overall with a score of 72.99.  Each leg of the triathlon was weighed individually and the furthest distances covered achieved the lowest scores per each event.

How it Happened
Frederik Smal covered 775 yards over 10 mins, a race 2nd best 8.69 miles on the 20 min bike, and 2 miles on the 15 min run.  Will Griffith covered a race best 3rd 825 yards over 10 mins, 7.72 miles on the 20 min bike, and 2.13 miles on the 15 min run.  Johannes Smal covered 550 yards over 10 mins in the swim, 7.08 miles on the 20 min bike, and 2 miles on the 15 min run.

The men conclude the spring season with the USAT Collegiate Club National Championships that take place March 28th-29th in Miami, Florida at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.
