HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky head men's basketball coach Darrin Horn has announced the signing of another talented transfer, as Tae Dozier has committed to NKU for his senior season.
"Tae Dozier is a long, athletic, multi-dimensional player that has impacted winning in March in a major way as a college player," said Darrin Horn. He is efficient, plays every perimeter position, and has a unique impact defensively with his ability to make plays stealing the ball and blocking shots."
Dozier, a 6'5 guard from Louisville, KY, comes to Highland Heights after four years at NAIA Georgetown College, where he averaged 11.5 PTS, 6.6 REB, 3.1 AST, 1.7 STL and 1.5 BLK per game for the Tigers as a redshirt junior. He was named First Team All-MSC, MSC All-Academic, and a Third Team NAIA All-American.
Dozier was highly efficient from everywhere on the floor, shooting 59.3% from the field, 35.7% from 3PT range, and 85.7% from the free throw line. He was key to GC's success this season, as the Tigers went 29-5 and advanced to the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Quarterfinals. The Tigers racked up 108 wins during his four years in Georgetown.
On the defensive end, Dozier averaged nearly a pair of steals per game and a block and a half per game. He posted 18 games with at least one of each.
Dozier came up clutch for the Tigers in the NAIA Tournament, nailing a game-winning three with 21 seconds to go to send GC to the NAIA National Quarterfinals.
During his career, Dozier has racked up 901 points, 504 rebounds, 292 assists, 116 steals, and 74 blocked shots.
