Men's Basketball signs transfer guard Donovan Oday

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky men's basketball has added a fifth transfer to its incoming class ahead of the 2025-26 season, as Donovan Oday has committed to NKU after stops at a pair of institutions over three years at the collegiate level.

Donovan Oday Signed

"Donovan is a dynamic perimeter athlete that has been very productive in a league similar to the Horizon," said head coach Darrin Horn. "He can score and brings great physicality on both ends while excelling at drawing fouls and rebounding from the guard spot. Similar to other one year players we have had, we are confident he has the tools and makeup to make a significant jump in his game as well."

A 6'2 guard from Arlington, Texas, Donovan Oday comes to Highland Heights after two seasons at Cal State Fullerton, where he played in 63 games during his sophomore and junior seasons. This past season, Oday was the top scorer on the team averaging 12.8 points with five boards and nearly a steal per game for the Titans. Oday frequently visited the free throw line in 2024-25, and made 119 free throws at a 76% clip. He posted 22 double-digit scoring performances in 31 games last season, including four 20+ point games with a season-best 29 point output against Hawaii. As a sophomore, Oday played in all 32 games for Fullerton, averaging 7.1 points per game. He scored a season-best 16 points against Nebraska that season.

Prior to his two seasons in The Golden State, Oday played in 25 games and started two as a freshman at McNeese State. He made an impact immediately for the Cowboys off the bench, averaging nearly five points per game. He scored in double figures five times that season, including a season-high 14 point outburst in the Southland Conference Tournament against Nicholls.

In total, Oday has scored 743 points during his collegiate career, notching 273 rebounds, 90 assists and 75 steals.

Oday joins a loaded transfer class that includes Addison Archer, Kael Robinson, Tae Dozier, and Ethan Elliott ahead of 2025-26.
