Women’s Basketball earns third straight win in dominant fashion over Detroit Mercy

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's basketball took on Detroit Mercy on Sunday, with the Norse seeking their third-straight win. NKU came out firing and played lockdown defense in the second and third quarters, leading by as much as 32 in a blowout victory. It marked another standout game for Maddie Moody, who set a new career high with 19 points, while Mya Meredith crossed a major career milestone.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Northern Kentucky dominated the turnover battle, forcing 22 while committing just ten. NKU had 23 points off those turnovers and 12 steals. 
- NKU also recorded an assist on 18 of their 26 field goals, while the Titans had just nine assists. 
- The Norse didn't have a great shooting day, shooting just 36.1% from the field and 30% from three, but grabbed 20 offensive rebounds with 16 second-chance points. 
- Maddie Moody led the Norse with an impressive performance, going for 19 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block, going 7-14 from the floor and 2-4 from three. 
- Mya Meredith dropped 13 points with eight rebounds and four assists. She crossed 1,000 career points in the game, an impressive milestone. 
- Karina Bystry went for 11 points with three rebounds and a steal. 
- Jamaya Thomas set a new career high with 11 points, also recording three rebounds and a steal. 
- Taysha Rushton had nine points on three threes, with four rebounds and three assists. 
- Abby Wolterman grabbed ten rebounds in just 18 minutes, six of those coming on the offensive glass.
