HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's basketball headed up north for its final road trip of the 2025-26 regular season on Wednesday night, taking on Oakland for its first leg of its trip to Michigan. The Norse led for nearly the entire game, blowing out the Golden Grizzlies by 25 points on their home court as NKU drained 13 threes.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- The Norse shot 47% from the field and a blazing 46.4% from deep, while shooting 9-14 from the free throw line. NKU hit 13 threes in the game, tied for its second-most in a game all season and its most in any regulation game this year. NKU hit at least two threes in every quarter, including five in the fourth. On the other hand, they limited Oakland to shoot 37.1% from the field and just 3-19 from behind the arc, while the Golden Grizzlies shot 10-17 from the charity stripe.
- Northern Kentucky won the turnover battle, 8-10. NKU scored 16 points off those ten Golden Grizzly turnovers.
- NKU also won the rebound battle, 42-35, including 29-22 on the defensive glass. The Norse did allow 13 Oakland offensive boards, though.

Karina Bystry once again led the way for the Norse, dropping 21 points on a career-high six threes, only missing one attempt from beyond the arc. She also grabbed four rebounds, dished out a pair of assists, and recorded a steal.
- Behind Bystry was
Mya Meredith, who scored in double figures for her eighth-straight contest. She finished with 15 points on 6-11 shooting, five rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block.

Maddie Moody finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, shooting 4-8 from the field and 2-4 from three.

Taysha Rushton had 11 points, five assists, and three rebounds.

Abby Wolterman finished with seven points and six rebounds, while
Anna Hamilton had eight points off the bench.

POSTSEASON IMPLICATIONS
With the win, the Norse will host a First Round game in this year's Horizon League Championship to be held on Wednesday, March 4, at Truist Arena.
