Men’s Golf drops three matches at Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate

SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's golf continued the spring season from Monday to Wednesday, competing at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami University. The Norse dropped matches to Miami, Ohio, and Seton Hall over three days. 

In round one, the Norse took on Miami in match play, dropping it 5.5-0.5. Mason Butler had the only tie for the Norse, coming back from three down after 15 holes to tie it up on the 18th.

Tuesday saw Northern Kentucky take on Ohio in match play, losing 2-4. Grant Broughton won match one by a single stroke, coming back from two strokes down after 16. Brady Holmes won match two after going up five strokes with three to play. All other Norse fell in match play, though. 

On Wednesday, the Norse took on Seton Hall, where they lost 5-1. Brady Holmes tied his opponent in match two despite leading for 16 holes. Butler also tied his opponent, coming back from being four strokes down after 13. 

Up next, NKU hosts the Jewell at Elks Run Golf Course, starting on April 6.
