Northern Kentucky Women’s Soccer announces 2026 schedule

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – 2026 marks a historic year for Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer, as head coach Bob Sheehan enters his 30th year at the helm of the program since starting it in 1997. The Norse announced their 2026 schedule on Thursday, as Northern Kentucky looks to make another run at the Horizon League Championship.

NKU will get things started with a home exhibition against Akron on August 5, Northern Kentucky's lone exhibition match of the season. The 2026 campaign officially kicks off in Clarksville, Tennessee, where the Norse will take on Austin Peay on August 12. Then, the Norse are home for three straight, taking on Mount St. Joseph on August 20, Ohio on August 23, and Bellarmine on August 27. NKU wraps up the month of August with an away match against Morehead State on August 30.

The Norse kick off September with another three-game homestand, starting with Cincinnati on September 6. Northern Kentucky then takes on Eastern Kentucky on September 10, before wrapping up the homestand with the Horizon League opener against Youngstown on the 19th.

NKU will then face off against the league's newest member, NIU, in DeKalb on September 24 before taking on IU Indy on September 27. The Norse start October with a pair of home matches against defending league champion Milwaukee on October 1 and the Green Bay squad that knocked Northern Kentucky out of last year's championship on October 4. Then, the Norse hit the road again for an away match against Robert Morris on October 10.

The Norse then have another pair of back-to-back home matches, against Cleveland State on October 15 and Purdue Fort Wayne on the 18th. NKU then heads up to Michigan to take on Detroit Mercy on the 22nd and Oakland on the 25th, before hosting Wright State on Halloween to close the regular season.
