Norse earn ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its annual Team Academic Excellence Award recipients, with Northern Kentucky earning the honor for the fourth consecutive season. It marked NKU's fourth-ever time receiving the award, all under current head coach Dizzy Peyton. 

Northern Kentucky had two honorees on the Horizon League All-Academic team in 2026, as both Jake Paulick and Josh Williams earned a spot on the team, while eleven Norse earned a spot on the Horizon League Honor Roll this spring. 

The American Baseball Coaches Association is proud to recognize more than 800 member high school and college programs nationwide with the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack. The award honors ABCA member programs that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year, and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
