HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team concludes its three-game homestand with its final tune-up on Tuesday night against Georgetown (Ky.) at The Bank of Kentucky Center before beginning Atlantic Sun Conference play.

NKU fell to 8-6 overall after dropping a 72-60 decision to Wright State on Saturday at The Bank of Kentucky Center.
Melody Doss led the Norse with 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Shar'Rae Davis and
Kelley Wiegman each recorded 12 points for NKU, while
Kasey Uetrecht added seven rebounds and
Kaitlyn Gerrety blocked four shots.
The Norse held a 34-28 advantage at the halftime break, but Wright State used a 13-6 run to start the second half to take a 41-40 lead with just over 14 minutes remaining. A pair of free throws from Wiegman regained the NKU lead at the 13:08 mark. Tay'ler Mingo's jumper on the next Raiders possession pushed Wright State back ahead for good.
ABOUT GEORGETOWN: The Tigers are 10-5 after dropping a 65-54 decision to Westmont in Santa Barbara, California, in a battle between nationally-ranked NAIA programs on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Devanny King scored 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds for Georgetown, which entered the contest No. 25 in the country before falling to the No. 11 Warriors. Jessica Foster finished with 10 points and eight rebounds, while Haley Armstrong added nine points for the Tigers.
Foster averages 13.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to lead Georgetown. King contributes 12.4 points and a team-high 9.1 boards per contest, while Armstrong leads the team with 46 assists. As a team, the Tigers are averaging 71.0 points and 46.7 rebounds per contest. Georgetown is turning away 5.6 opponent shots, led by Foster's eight and seven from Tena Johnson and Emilie Ziese.
Head coach Andrea McCloskey is in her fourth season with Georgetown after spending 2006-11 as an assistant coach for the Tigers. She amassed a 68-29 record in her first three seasons as the team has advanced to the NAIA Tournament each year under her direction.
NKU-GEORGETOWN SERIES: NKU holds a 16-1 advantage in the all-time series against Georgetown (Ky.), including a 70-49 victory in the last meeting on Dec. 7, 2011, in The Bank of Kentucky Center. The Norse won the first nine meetings against the Tigers before Georgetown earned its only victory (85-64) in the series on Nov. 16, 2004. NKU has won the previous seven contests between to the two programs.
NKU and Georgetown swapped home court advantage over the seven of the first eight meetings. The two teams met in Midway, Kentucky, on Nov. 22, 1983, in Hall of Fame head coach Nancy Winstel's first game, which the Norse won 63-56. The last nine matchups have come in Highland Heights, where NKU is 12-1 in the series.
LAST TIME AGAINST GEORGETOWN: Defense keyed NKU's 70-49 win over Georgetown on Dec. 7, 2011, which marked the last season as an NCAA Division II program for the Norse.
NKU held the Tigers to 27.1 percent shooting from the field and forced 18 turnovers on the night as the Norse drained six 3-pointsers in the first half to build a 43-25 advantage at the break. With Georgetown holding a 13-12 lead, Maria Bennett knocked down a 3-pointer to begin an 11-0 NKU run. Casse Mogan capped the run with a basket with 7:49 left to give the Norse a 23-13 advantage, and NKU did not trail again.
Mogan scored 20 points and collected six steals to lead NKU, which shot 40.9 percent from the field. Jaimie Hamlet added 12 points for the Norse, while Ellen Holton scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Melody Doss and
Kaitlyn Gerrety each saw action during their freshman season, scoring two points apiece. Doss added one assist and one blocked shot, while Gerrety grabbed two boards for the Norse, who finished with a 39-35 edge on the glass.
Andrea Howard led Georgetown with 15 points, while Devon Golden added 12. Devanny King finished with six points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Tigers.
PERSONAL BESTS: Despite dropping a 72-60 decision to Wright State on Saturday afternoon, several NKU players set career numbers.
Melody Doss tied her rebounding career high with 14 points as she recorded her second double-double of the season after scoring a team-high 17 points. The senior from Greenwood, Indiana, also pulled down 14 boards against Tennessee Martin on Nov. 30, 2013, to close out a strong performance at the RMU Thanksgiving Classic.
Kasey Uetrecht set a new personal best with seven rebounds against the Raiders. The freshman forward from Clarksville, Ohio, came off the bench for two offensive rebounds and five defensive boards as the Norse outrebounded Wright State, 49-45. Prior to Saturday's effort, Uetrecht's previous high for NKU was five, which she recorded against then-No. 13 Kentucky on Dec. 3 in just her third collegiate game.
Shar'Rae Davis set a new high for herself in an NKU uniform in points with 12. The redshirt sophomore transfer from Youngstown State began her Norse career with a 10-point performance against Loyola (Chicago) on Nov. 22. While at Youngstown State, Davis scored a career-high 23 points against Bryant on Nov. 18, 2012.
TURNING SHOTS AWAY: As a team, NKU ranks second among Atlantic Sun teams in blocked shots. The Norse are turning away 3.6 shots per game to land behind Stetson's 4.6 rejections.
Kaitlyn Gerrety ranks third among conference players at 1.4 blocked shots per contest, while
Christine Roush's 0.9 comes in at 10th and
Melody Doss is tied for 13 at 0.7 with Kennesaw State's Jasmine McAllister.
On Saturday afternoon, the Norse tied their blocked shots season-high with six. Gerrety finished one shy of tying her career high of five rejections with four against the Raiders. Doss and Gayheart each finished with one apiece. NKU blocked six shots against Akron on Nov. 15 at the Akron Classic and Grand Canyon on Nov. 28 to begin the Navy Classic.
Gerrety, a senior center from Cincinnati, Ohio, leads the Norse this season with 20 blocked shots. Roush, a junior guard from Louisville, Kentucky, has turned away 12 opponent shots, including a career-high four against Delaware on Dec. 19. Doss, a senior forward from Greenwood, Indiana, is third on the team with 10 blocks, including a season-high three against Delaware State to begin her final campaign.
TUESDAY'S PROMOTION: Tuesday night's contest against Georgetown will feature Senior Citizen Night. Fans 55 and older will receive $3 admission to the game. The cheer team will perform its nationals routine at halftime as well.
