LAST TIME OUT: In their last match, the Norse secured a Horizon League Tournament bid after battling League-leading Milwaukee to a scoreless draw at Engelmann Stadium. Goalkeeper Brooke Schocker posted a pair of early saves in the 14th and 26th minute before the Norse defense held Milwaukee without a shot on target for the remainder of the 110 minute match. The Norse out-shot the Panthers 13-11 overall and 6-2 in shots on goal. Jessica Frey posted a game-high four shots.

ABOUT GREEN BAY: The Phoenix are on a three-match skid, coming off a 4-1 loss to Wright State. The Green Bay offense is paced by Heidi Hartmann, who ranks in the top five in the League in shots (49), points (15) and goals (six). Defensively, Kelly Kent has logged a team-high 1261:56 minutes between the posts, totaling 83 saves on the season, the third-most in the Horizon League. Kent averages a League-leading 5.93 saves per game.

NORSE NOTES:

With 16 total points in League play and a current third-place standing, NKU is looking to jump second-place Oakland (17 points) to earn a first-round bye in the League Tournament. The Norse can be no worse than the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Horizon League Championships. An NKU win and Oakland loss or tie is the only scenario in which the Norse can earn the No. 2 seed. The second place team advances to the Horizon League semifinals hosted by regular-season champion Milwaukee on Nov. 5. If NKU remains the No. 3 seed, the Norse will host a quarterfinal match on Monday, Nov. 2 against the No. 6 seed.

Schocker, a junior goalkeeper, continues to climb in NKU's single season and career records. The Schaumburg, Ill. native, has moved into the all-time top-10 in single season saves for the second-straight year with 54 and is ninth all-time in single season wins with nine. On her career, Schocker is third in total saves with 124, trailing Rachael Wood (2009-11) who recorded 143 career saves. Additionally, Schocker has the fourth-most career shutouts with eight after posting four so far this season.

Frey, a sophomore forward, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team on Thursday. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native has maintained a 3.96 GPA as a pre-nursing major while also pacing the Northern Kentucky offense on the field. The 2014 Atlantic Sun All-Academic and All-Freshman team honoree has posted 17 total points this season, the second-most in the Horizon League. Frey averages 1.12 points per game this season and has scored a team-high six goals to go with five assists.

Three of NKU's eight Horizon League matches have extended into double overtime. NKU owns a 1-1-1 record in overtime contests this season. The Norse defeated Valparaiso in double overtime on a Golden Goal from Kelsey Laumann in the 101st minute. NKU then dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Cleveland State after the Vikings netted the game-winner with just 20 seconds remaining in the final overtime period. In their most recent match, the Norse played Milwaukee to a scoreless draw for their 1-1-1 2OT record.

NKU's freshmen have contributed significantly to Northern Kentucky's success throughout the season. Taylor Spaulding has logged the third-most minutes of any player with 1,317 out of a possible 1,400. Spaulding has helped the Norse defense post six shutouts this season as NKU has not allowed more than two goals in a single game. Offensively, Brianna Frondorf has netted two goals and has one assist for five total points. The freshman trio of Payton Naylor, Rachel Conaway and Samantha Duwel each have three points while Erin Sutton has added two points in her rookie campaign.

UP NEXT: If NKU remains the No. 3 seed for the Horizon League Tournament, the Norse will host a League quarterfinal match on Monday, Nov. 2 at NKU Soccer Stadium. Should NKU earn the No. 2 spot pending Friday's results, the Norse will advance to the Horizon League semifinals on Nov. 5 at Milwaukee.
