Norse fall to No. 64 Louisville, 7-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team came up short against a very tough opponent, dropping a road decision to No. 64 Louisville, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon.
 
The loss dropped the Norse to 1-1 on the season as they play the second of span of three matches in five days. The Norse will close out the stretch on Tuesday against another nationally ranked squad as they face No. 26 Kentucky. First serve is set for 6 p.m., with live results available at nkunorse.com.
 
Louisville swept through doubles play to take the match's opening point and closed out the match with singles wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6. In the top-flight match, Rheanna Morehart, who played the hero in Friday's 4-3 win over SEMO, took a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Elle Stokes, who is the No. 18-ranked player in the Ohio Valley region.
 
After a 6-2 loss in the opening set, Sydney Power forced a super tiebreaker with a 6-4 win in Set 2 over Louisville's Olivia Boesing. The Cardinal got the better of the shortened set, taking the victory, 10-3.
 
NKU returns home on Saturday, joining the men's squad to host Dayton at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
