HARTFORD, Conn. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team got a pair of third-set wins in singles to take a 5-2 victory over Hartford in nonconference play on Friday.

The Norse (2-5) swept the doubles point, as
Mate Virag and
Jack Carney teamed to best Will Drumwright and Nick Sharwarko, 6-4, in the top flight.
Christopher Angulo and
Adrian Isache took a tiebreaker win from Ryan Lugtu and Alex Romaine, and
Balint Zsidai and
Jody Maginley defeated Dan Rombola and Luis Montes, 7-5, in the final doubles match.

In singles, Angulo survived a 7-6 tiebreak win by Dan Rombola, posting a 6-2 win in the third set to pick up his team-leading fifth singles victory of the year.
Nick Lang also went the distance, taking a 10-4 super tiebreaker win from Morgan White at No. 6.

Virag's 6-3, 7-5 win over Lugtu gave the Norse the top flight, while Zsidai added a 6-2, 6-0 win over Romaine at No. 5 to wrap up NKU's success in singles play.

NKU will continue on its New York trip on Saturday, taking on Wagner at 11 a.m. The weekend wraps up on Sunday against St. Francis (N.Y.).
