OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team picked up its second-consecutive win, defeating Wagner by a 6-1 score on Saturday afternoon.
The Norse (3-5) swept through doubles play, winning breaks in every match to take the day's opening point.
Mate Virag and
Christopher Angulo kept their doubles record perfect at 3-0 as a pair with a 6-3 win over Michal Rolski and Juan Alanis in the top flight.
Angulo ran his singles record to 6-5 with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Alanis at the No. 2 singles match.
Jody Maginley and
Jack Carney each snapped singles losing streaks, defeating Ryan Khan (7-6, 6-4) and Charlton Boyd (7-5, 6-3), respectively.
Adrian Isache and
Balint Zsidai also picked up wins to close out NKU's success in singles play.
NKU concludes its tour of the Big Apple on Sunday with a 3 p.m. start against St. Francis. The Norse then return home to open Atlantic Sun Conference play on Friday, March 20, against North Florida. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
