MTennis opens A-Sun play against North Florida

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis looks to continue its winning ways on Saturday when the Norse open Atlantic Sun Conference play against North Florida. First serve from the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex is set for 11 a.m.

The match was originally scheduled for Friday morning, but scheduling complications forced it to be pushed back.

The Norse stand at 4-5 on the season after running the table last weekend in New York, picking up wins over Hartford, Wagner and St. Francis (N.Y.). Christopher Angulo leads the way for the Norse, picking up three singles wins to move to 7-5 on the year. Adrian Isache and Balint Zsidai were also perfect on the weekend, improving to 5-6 and 5-5, respectively.

A WORD ABOUT NORTH FLORIDA: The Ospreys enter A-Sun play with an 11-4 overall record and ranked as the No. 69 team in the nation after dropping two of three matches to nationally-ranked opposition in the USF Spring Break Tournament, defeating Furman while losing to No. 63 Tulane and No. 25 Drake. Jack Findel-Hawkins is 13-6 to lead the Ospreys in singles play as the No. 96 ranked player in the nation. Zach Goldberg plays on the other end of the lineup and has posted a perfect 6-0 record in the spring. Findel-Hawkins also appears in the national rankings among doubles teams, as he and Norbert Nemcsek are No. 68  with a 14-9 record.

UP NEXT: Following the home matches this weekend, NKU takes a tour of the Sunshine State beginning Wednesday at Bethune-Cookman. The week continues on Thursday with a conference match at Stetson before Saturday's A-Sun tilt at Florida Gulf Coast.
