Men's Tennis falls to No. 28 Louisville, 7-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team played its fourth nationally ranked opponent of the season on Tuesday, falling to No. 28 Louisville by a 7-0 score in nonconference action.

A late break point was the difference in Jody Maginley and Nick Lang's 7-5 loss to Seb Stiefelmeyer and Chris Simich at No. 3 doubles as the Cardinals (21-5) swept the doubles point to open things up. Maginley and Simich met in singles play as well with Simich taking a 6-3, 7-5 win in a hotly contested match.

Christopher Angulo continued his strong play but came up just short on a couple of break points in a 6-4, 6-4 loss to Alex Gornet at No. 2.

NKU, now 5-12 on the season, will head to Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend for a pair of matches. The action begins on Friday at Tennessee State before the Norse close out the weekend and Atlantic Sun Conference play on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against Lipscomb.
