WTEN opens fall with 7-0 win over Thomas More

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team opened fall action Wednesday evening with a 7-0 victory over Thomas More at the Joyce E. Yeager Tennis Complex.

Four of NKU's singles players including Klara Skopac, Danielle Donahue, Nicole Soutar and Sierra Nellessen did not drop a game against Thomas More, as they each cruised to a pair of 6-0 victories.

In the No. 2 spot, Hailey Shanahan defeated Thomas More's Anna Hetzer 6-2, 6-2 while Sydney Power earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3.

Each of the three doubles flights played to completion, with Donahue and Nellesson finishing first, defeating Jeni Hall and Lydia Olsen, 6-0, to continue NKU's march to victory as the squad swept TMC in doubles action.

The Norse return to action on Friday, Sept. 18 for the first day of the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. The tournament will take place all day Friday and Saturday.
