@NKUNorseWBB faces Milwaukee to close #HLWBB weekend


HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team wraps up a weekend of Horizon League action on Saturday when the Norse host Milwaukee at BB&T Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the action carried live on ESPN3.

Last Time Out
NKU battled neck-and-neck for three quarters until a 12-2 run in the fourth pushed Green Bay to an 81-73 victory on Thursday night. Kasey Uetrecht poured in 18 points and grabbed eight boards to lead the Norse offense, while Courtney Roush added a career-high 16 points.
 
About Milwaukee
The Panthers are coming off a shocking 82-60 win over Horizon League co-leader Wright State on Thursday, pushing UWM's record to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in Horizon League play. Steph Kostowicz leads the Panther offense with 12.3 points and nine rebounds per contest, while Sierra Ford-Washington chips in 12 points a game as well.
 
The Series
For the third consecutive game, and final time this season, NKU will take on a first-time opponent in Milwaukee. The Norse are 3-3 this year against teams they have never previously faced.
 
Cashing In
Over a two-game stretch, NKU has been near automatic from the free-throw line. In games against Detroit and Green Bay, the Norse have shot a combined 27-for-29 from the charity stripe, including a perfect 9-for-9 in the Motor City. Entering Saturday's game against Milwaukee, NKU is shooting 78 percent from the free-throw line as a team to lead all Horizon League squads.
