YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team fell to defending Horizon League champion Youngstown State on Friday, 7-0, at Boardman Tennis Center.
The Penguins clinched the doubles point despite a 6-4 victory from NKU's No. 1 doubles team of
Klara Skopac and
Danielle Donahue. The duo defeated Annina Brendel and Ana Stroe.
In singles play, Skopac took a team-best seven games from Dominika Lackova, but fell 6-3, 6-4.
Donahue won five games in singles play on Friday against Noelly Longi Nsimba who came away with the No. 3 singles win, 6-4, 6-1.
At No. 5 singles,
Sierra Nellessen battled in the second set but fell 6-4 after dropping the opening set 6-1.
The Norse dip to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the Horizon League while the Penguins improve to 3-10 on the season and 1-0 in the League.
