CLEVELAND – Nicole Soutar defeated Cleveland State's Morgan Nix at No. 6 singles on Saturday afternoon, but the Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team fell, 6-1, at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
Soutar earned her victory after fighting through a super tiebreaker to win 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (3).
The duo of
Sydney Power and
Sierra Nellessen also picked up a victory. The pair took down the team of Victoria Bensimon and Nix, 6-4, but CSU came away with the doubles point after victories in the first and second flights.
The Norse dip to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in the Horizon League as the Vikings move to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in League play.
The Norse close out their seven-match road swing the weekend of Saturday, April 2 when they take on League foes Valparaiso and UIC.
