CINCINNATI – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team took on Cincinnati in its final road match of the regular season on Wednesday evening and fell to the Bearcats, 4-0, at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.
UC gained the early advantage, sweeping doubles play for a 1-0 lead.
Nicole Soutar and Sierra Nellessen won four games at the No. 3 doubles flight, falling to Natalia Abdalla and Samantha Perry, 6-4.
The Cincinnati momentum carried over into singles play as the Bearcats claimed a trio of victories to clinch the match and leave NKU's Sydney Power ahead 3-2 in her second set when the match was abandoned.
The loss moves NKU to 7-10 overall this season. The Norse close out the regular season with a pair of matches against Horizon League foes Milwaukee and Green Bay. Northern Kentucky hosts the Panthers on Saturday, April 23 and turns around to take on the Phoenix on Sunday, April 24 at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.
