CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Klara Skopac, Sydney Power and Sierra Nellessen collected singles victories on Saturday as the Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team edged Oakland, 4-3, at Five Seasons Sports Club.
 
With the victory, NKU moves to 7-8 overall and 2-4 in the Horizon League. Oakland slips to 8-8 overall and 1-4 in League matches.
 
The Norse used victories at No. 1 and 3 doubles to win the doubles point on Saturday. Power and Danielle Donahue earned a 6-2 victory over the Golden Grizzlies followed by a win from Nellessen and Nicole Soutar at No. 3, 6-4.
 
Skopac led the way in singles play, dropping just a pair of games as she cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Tamara Blum.
 
Power earned a No. 2 singles win over Elizabeth Guy, 6-1, 6-3, while Nellessen rounded out the singles victories, besting Sofia Borcuti, 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 6 flight.
 
The Norse return to action on Sunday when they play host to Detroit. First serve is set for 11 a.m. at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.
