INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League released its 2017-18 women's basketball preseason poll on Friday afternoon, which was voted upon by the League's head coaches, sports information directors and select media members. Northern Kentucky received 59 points in the poll, tabbed to finish ninth in the League.
Reigning regular-season and tournament champion Green Bay was once again favored to take the title, receiving 21 first-place votes and 246 points. Wright State (204) finished second in the poll and garnered four first-place votes as well as the League's Preseason Player of the Year, Chelsea Welch. Oakland (130), Milwaukee (129), Detroit Mercy (126), Cleveland State (117), IUPUI (106), and Youngstown State (93) followed, while UIC took the final spot in the poll with 31 points.
