CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's fell to the defending BIG EAST champion, Xavier, on Saturday evening, 7-0. With the setback, NKU falls to 1-2 on the season, while the Musketeers advance to 2-5.
Match Notables
- Xavier came out quickly with a doubles point win, taking down NKU's lineups in No. 1 and 3, 6-2 and 6-1.
- The Norse were unable to win a set throughout the match, with the Musketeers winning each of the singles matchups in straight sets.
- Margita Sunjic took on reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year and No. 9 in the Ohio Valley Region, Sydney Liggins, falling to her opponent 6-3, 6-2.
- Klara Skopac had one of the tighter singles matchups in the No. 2 slot, falling 6-2, 6-4 to Cristina Di Lorenzo.
- Katja Dijanezevic fell in matching 6-3 sets to Lauren Ghidotti in No. 3 singles to round out the upper half of the Norse singles lineup.
- NKU will play next on Sunday, Feb. 26, when the Norse make the short trip to Oxford, Ohio, to take on Miami University. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET.
