CINCINNATI – Northern Kentucky women's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to Cincinnati on Wednesday afternoon. With the setback, NKU dips to 5-10 while the Bearcats move on to 14-6.
Match Notables
- The Norse dropped the doubles point with setback on the No. 1 and 3 courts. Klara Skopac and Margita Sunjic fell to Kelly Poggensee-Wei and Lauren Bellinger, 6-4, while Sierra Nellessen and Yasmine Xantos fell to Caroline Morton and Antonella Bramato, 6-2.
- Cincinnati went on to win in the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles matches to clinch the 4-0 victory.
- Sydney Power dropped a 6-1, 6-4 match to Bramato in the No. 3 spot, Katja Dijanezevic fell 6-4, 6-0 to Bramato, and Danielle Donahue suffered a 6-2, 6-1 setback to Anna Philp.
- Nellessen was the only Norse to take a set off a Bearcat, winning the first set of the No. 6 singles 6-3 before her match was abandoned at 4-4 in the second set.
- The Norse hit the road this weekend for the Great Lakes State, taking on Oakland on Saturday, April 15, before an Easter Day match at Detroit Mercy on Sunday, April 16.
