HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team will head to No. 6 Kentucky on Wednesday for a midweek contest. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m., and the game will be streamed on the SEC Network +, with live stats and audio available as well.

LAST TIME OUT
The Norse played at Lipscomb this past weekend in a four-game series. The Bisons took the series 3-1. NKU won Saturday's contest by a final score of 2-1.
Will Haueter's home run in the top of the ninth inning led the Norse to victory.
Cameron Ross got the start on the mound in the game, and he pitched six innings, while allowing eight hits and just one run. He also struck out six batters.
Joe Martin earned the win, as he pitched the last three innings, while striking out five batters and allowing just four hits.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
The Wildcats are ranked No. 6 in both the USA Today Coaches and D1Baseball.com Top 25 polls. UK is 11-1 overall on the season, having most recently won games against Western Kentucky, No. 19 Houston, No. 20 Sam Houston State, and Louisiana. Luke Heyer was named the SEC Player of the Week for batting .667 (10-for-15) during the week with six runs, six RBI, two doubles and three home runs. He was also named the Most Outstanding Player at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Heyer leads the team in batting average at .462. He has 18 hits, 16 RBI, 13 runs, seven home runs and three doubles on the year. T.J. Collett is batting .396 this season with 19 hits, 22 RBI, 13 runs, seven home runs and three doubles.
On the mound, Sean Hjelle leads the team in innings pitched at 19.2. He has made three starts this season and sports a 3-0 record with a 0.92 ERA. Justin Lewis and Zack Thompson have also made three starts on the mound, and they have a 2.95 and 5.52 ERA, respectively.

TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
Dominic Mercurio is the top hitter for the Norse among qualified batters with a .351 average. He has 13 hits, four runs, four RBI and two doubles on the season. Haueter is batting .333 with 15 hits, 10 RBI, and six runs scored. He also leads the team in slugging percentage at .721, and he has a team-high five home runs.
On the mound, six different players have made a start for the Norse this season.
Brody Basilone has made one start on the season and has pitched 9.2 innings. Basilone leads the team with an ERA of 0.00. Ross leads the team with five appearances and 14.1 innings pitched. He has a 5.02 ERA and has struck out 12 batters on the season.
