HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team hosts the Oakland Golden Grizzlies this weekend for a Horizon League series. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 1 p.m. and a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m. The changes are due to rain and thunderstorms that are expected to hit the area this weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
NKU defeated Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday evening by a final score of 14-6. The Norse hit four home runs during the contest.
Will Haueter started the offensive attack with a solo home run in the top of the first inning.
Griffin Doersching hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to put NKU ahead 7-1, and
Chad Roberts and
Preston Pilat both homered in the eighth inning.
Jordan Menfee got the start on the mound. He went three innings, allowing just one run on three hits.
Kyle Service earned the win on the mound for throwing three scoreless.
Kaleb Meeks made his collegiate debut in the contest, and
Nick Beard and
Travis Rowland pitched the final two innings.
SCOUTING OAKLAND
The Golden Grizzlies enter the contest at 8-20 overall and 5-6 in the Horizon League. The team most recently split a pair of midweek games. Oakland defeated Eastern Michigan on Tuesday by a score of 4-2, before falling to Central Michigan, 24-9. The Golden Grizzlies are led at the plate by Mario Camilletti. He is batting .327 on the year with 36 hits, 16 runs scored and 14 RBIs. He has also added three doubles and two home runs. On the mound, Oakland has a team ERA of 7.38. Nick Parr and Jake Lee have made eight and seven starts, respectively. Parr is 1-5 with a 4.75 ERA, and Lee is 3-4 with a 6.57 ERA.

TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
Will Haueter leads the team and the Horizon League in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage at .394/.740/.488. His slugging percentage ranks eighth nationally. Haueter also leads the Norse in hits (41) and doubles (10), and he is tied for the team lead in home runs (8).
Jake Richmond is batting .273 on the year and is also tied for the team lead in home runs (8).
Cameron Ross has the top ERA on the team at 3.77. He has also struck out 39 batters in 45.1 innings of work.
