HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team hosts UIC this weekend for a Horizon League series. The series will feature single games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All of the games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

NKU defeated Miami-Hamilton by a score of 9-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Jordan Menfee got the start on the mound, and he earned the win. Menfee pitched five innings, allowing just two runs on four hits.
Travis Rowland pitched three innings, giving up just an unearned run, and
Cal McAninch didn't allow a runner to reach base in the ninth inning.
Griffin Doersching went 2-for-5 at the plate with four RBIs.
SCOUTING UIC
UIC enters the contest at 17-13 overall and 5-7 in Horizon League play. The Flames defeated the Viterbo V-Hawks 17-1 on Tuesday. Prior to that, the team's series against Milwaukee was cancelled due to inclement weather. UIC is led at the plate by Scott Ota. He has started all 30 games for the Flames and hits at a .333 clip with 38 hits, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored. On the mound, UIC has a team ERA of 3.13. Ryan Campbell has made eight starts this season, and he has a 1.47 ERA. Charlie Cerny leads the team in mound appearances with 16. He has pitched 22.2 innings, allowing just one earned run for an ERA of 0.40.
BIG WIN IN MARCH
The Norse defeated No. 6 Kentucky earlier this season on March 7 by a final score of 8-6. It was NKU's second win over a ranked program since its move to Division I. The Norse also defeated UK on March 29, 2016. The Wildcats were ranked No. 12 in that matchup.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
Will Haueter leads the team and Horizon League among qualified hitters in batting average and on-base percentage at .380 and .487, respectively. He ranks second in the league and 23
rd in the nation in slugging percentage at .694.
Jake Richmond is batting .286 with 46 hits, 29 RBIs, and 22 runs scored. He also leads the team with nine home runs, which ranks second in the Horizon League. On the mound,
Cameron Ross leads the team with a 4.03 ERA. He has made seven starts in 11 appearances. Ross has struck out 44 batters in 51.1 innings pitched.
