HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team hosts the Xavier Musketeers on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex, and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

LAST TIME OUT
NKU went 0-3 this past weekend against UIC. In Saturday's game, the Norse trailed 5-2 entering the bottom of the eighth.
Chad Roberts tied the game at 5-5 with a three-run homer. In the next at-bat,
Brendan Alas hit a solo home run to put NKU ahead 6-5. However, UIC scored six unearned runs in the top of the ninth to get the victory.
SCOUTING XAVIER
The Musketeers are 13-26 on the year and 3-6 in BIG EAST play. The team most recently went 1-2 against Creighton this past weekend, winning the series finale by a score of 12-8. Xavier is led at the plate by Conor Grammes. He is batting .325 on the year with 19 runs, 16 RBIs, seven homers and six doubles. Chris Givin is hitting at a .315 clip with 27 RBIs, 22 runs, seven doubles, four triples and two home runs. On the mound, Xavier has a team ERA of 6.25. Nine different players have made at least two starts on the hill for the Musketeers.
BIG WIN IN MARCH
The Norse defeated No. 6 Kentucky earlier this season on March 7 by a final score of 8-6. It was NKU's second win over a ranked program since its move to Division I. The Norse also defeated UK on March 29, 2016. The Wildcats were ranked No. 12 in that matchup.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE STATS
Will Haueter leads the team in hits (51), doubles (14), batting average (.378), slugging percentage (.674), and on-base percentage (.479). He ranks second in the Horizon League in doubles, batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage.
Andrew Bacon is batting at a .297 clip in his first collegiate season. He has 27 hits, 23 runs, 14 RBIs, four doubles and four homers.
Jake Richmond is hitting .286 on the year. He is tied for the team lead in home runs at nine with
Chad Roberts.
