HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's tennis will make the short trip across the river to take on Cincinnati at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4. The Norse are coming off a quick turnaround that featured three matches within three days between Friday-Sunday, March 30-April 1.
NKU went 2-1 over the weekend, picking up wins over Valparaiso and IUPUI while falling to UIC.
Margita Sunjic was undefeated in No. 1 singles, winning in straight sets against the Crusaders and the Jaguars and in three against her Flames opponent.
Maria Koo had a pair of straight-set wins against both Horizon League foes in the No. 2 singles spot, while three additional Norse had wins at both Valparaiso and IUPUI. All three of the matches featured a 5-2 decision.
The Bearcats hold a 9-8 record this season, most recently winning a tight matchup against cross-town foe Xavier on March 28, 4-3, in the seventh match of the season that came down to one point. Romanian freshman Ioana Guna has been holding down the No. 1 singles spot for Cincinnati, going 8-9 at the top flight.
