@NKUNorseTennis hosts Green Bay and Milwaukee

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky tennis will host Green Bay and Milwaukee on Saturday, April 7, and Sunday, April 8, respectively. Both contests will be played at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The women kick things off on Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. start against the Phoenix, with the men to follow shortly thereafter at 3:30 p.m. On Sunday, Milwaukee only field a women's tennis program, so the men will be off while the Norse women are set for a 12:30 p.m. start.

NKU's women are coming off a 5-2 setback to Cincinnati, with Margita Sunjic and Katja Dijanezevic picking up wins in singles action. Sunjic made quick work of Ioana Guna in the top flight, winning in matching 6-1 sets. Dijanezevic also had a straight-set victory, defeating Anna Philp in No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-2. On the men's side, the Norse dropped a pair of Horizon League contests to UIC and IUPUI last weekend. Jorge Rodriguez Agudo picked up NKU's only point after sliding into the No. 2 singles spot and winning 6-3, 7-6(5) over Johan Hedstrom at UIC.

Green Bay's women's squad sits at 1-9, with its only win coming against St. Norbert on March 2. The Phoenix have been swept in every Horizon League match this season and have had two short-handed matchups in which only five players have taken the court. The men hold a 7-9 mark and are 1-2 against Horizon League opponents, with two of the matches decided by a point. Green Bay has a strong top two with Florian Kraenzler in the No. 1 spot while James Ling is in the No. 2 spot with a 20-9 record between the two.

Milwaukee is currently 5-13 overall and 1-3 in League play, coming off a 4-3 win over Detroit Mercy. The Panthers' strength as of late has been in the bottom of the lineup, as the No. 3 through No. 6 singles were responsible for the win over the Titans. Agata Jurczak is coming off a 2-0 weekend against UDM and Oakland in the No. 3 singles spot with a straight-set win for the Panthers' only point against the Golden Grizzlies and a three-set victory to help clinch the match over the Titans.
