CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's tennis picked up its third-straight Horizon League win with a 4-3 victory over Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon. The Norse move to 5-7 overall and 3-2 in the League.
Match Notables
- NKU started off on the right foot with a doubles point win. All three Norse tandems struck gold in the first portion of action.
- Margita Sunjic and Maria Koo were the first to win, defeating Labina Petrovska and Anna Daniel Fuentes in the top flight, 6-2.
- Taylor Culbertson and Sydney Power clinched the point with a 6-4 win over Loren Nelson and Nicole Clarke in No. 2 doubles.
- For good measure, Katja Dijanezevic and Hannah Watton won an extended set over Agata Jurczak and Lucy Harper in No. 3 doubles, 7-6(6).
- NKU sealed the win with victories in No. 1,2 and 5 singles. After Milwaukee tied the match up at 1-1 with a win in No. 4 singles, Sunjic downed Petrovska in the top matchup, 6-1, 6-3, to take the lead once more. She remains undefeated in Horizon League play and has won her last seven singles matches.
- The Panthers answered back with a win in No. 3 singles, but the Norse rattled off two more points to clinch the win.
- Maria Koo had a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jurczak in No. 2 singles, and Hannah Watton provided the clinching point with a 6-0, 6-4 win in No. 5 singles.
The Norse will travel to Dayton for a midweek match against the Flyers on April 11, with first serve set for 1 p.m.
