@NKUNorseWBB announces Horizon League schedule

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's basketball team revealed its 18-game Horizon League schedule on Thursday afternoon, which features a home and away match-up with each of the league's nine other member institutions.
 
 Horizon Highlights
  • NKU starts the league slate on the road, facing UIC on Friday, Dec. 28, before taking on IUPUI on Sunday, Dec. 30.
  • The Norse ring in 2019 at home with Milwaukee and 2018 Horizon League Champion Green Bay on Thursday and Saturday, Jan. 3 and 5.
  • The team then takes a week off from competition before hosting rival Wright State on Saturday, Jan. 12. The game will also serve as the program's annual alumnae event, with more information to come on the yearly gathering.
  • NKU is back on the road on Friday and Sunday, Jan. 18 and 20, with tilts at Cleveland State and Youngstown State, respectively.
  • Fans will enjoy four-straight games at home with Detroit Mercy, Oakland, IUPUI and UIC coming to BB&T Arena. The game against the Titans will serve as NKU's Hoops 4 Health game, with tip-off at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25. The Norse then square off with the Golden Grizzlies on Sunday, Jan. 27 to close out the weekend. The second half of Horizon League play starts up with IUPUI on Thursday, Jan. 31, and continues with UIC on Saturday, Feb. 2.
  • After two weeks at home, the Norse spend two weeks on the road. NKU travels to Wisconsin to take on Green Bay on Thursday, Feb. 7, and Milwaukee on Saturday, Feb. 9, before making the short trip up I-75 to face Wright State on Saturday, Feb. 16.
  • The final home weekend of the regular season will pit the Norse against Youngstown State on Friday, Feb. 22, and Cleveland State on Sunday, Feb. 24.
  • NKU closes out the regular season on Thursday and Saturday, Feb. 28 and March 2, at Oakland and Detroit Mercy.
 
Postseason Information
  • The Horizon League announced changes to the format of the Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championship bracket on Tuesday afternoon. Of note, the field will no longer include all 10 member institutions, but will rather be comprised of the top-eight teams in the league.
  • The quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 5-6, with the highest available seeds serving as the host sites.
  • Motor City Madness will culminate in Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on Monday and Tuesday, March 11-12. Semifinals will be held on Monday, while the final will be contested at noon on Tuesday with the broadcast carried live on ESPNU. All other contests in the tournament will be streamed on either ESPN3 or ESPN+.
