NASHVILLE – Northern Kentucky women's basketball fell on the road to Belmont, a team that is receiving votes in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, 62-45. The Norse fall to 0-4 on the season while the Bruins improve to 3-1.
STAT LEADERS
- Molly Glick recorded a career high for the second-straight game, leading all scorers with 23 points after going 8-for-13 from the floor. The redshirt-senior also added five rebounds and an assist.
- Ivy Turner also hit double figures, scoring 11 points to go with six rebounds and two assists.
- Emmy Souder led the Norse on the boards with 10 rebounds for the first double-digit rebounding effort of her career.
TURNING POINT
- Northern Kentucky was able to get within five points of the Bruins with 6:07 remaining in the first half, but the Bruins closed the stanza out on an 11-2 run.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
- Turner knotted the score at two points apiece at the 7:39 mark, but the Bruins answered back with an 11-0 run. Glick and Garcia each added a bucket in the final 90 seconds of the quarter as NKU trailed, 13-6.
- Glick opened up the second quarter with a 3-pointer, bringing the Norse within four points of the Bruins. Another triple from Glick later had the Norse trailing, 19-14, after which Belmont went on to out-score the Norse 11-2 to close out the half.
- Glick led the Norse in scoring with eight points at the half, followed by Turner with six. Souder added six rebounds.
- The Norse converted 6-of-27 shots from the field for 22.2 percent. The Bruins shot 36.7 percent in the half.
- NKU kept its turnovers low with just five miscues, but the Bruins were able to convert those into seven points. The Bruins also outrebounded the Norse, 27-13.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
- Belmont kept NKU scoreless for the first six and a half minutes of the second half, going on a 15-0 run in that span. After Janna Lewis broke the scoring drought with a layup, the Norse outscored the Bruins 7-5 to close the third quarter.
- The Norse gained momentum going into the final quarter, in which they out-scored the Bruins, 22-12. NKU strung together an 8-2 run to close the contest.
- NKU shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the final quarter and converted on 9-of-10 free throws, while Belmont was held to 28.6 percent in the final stanza.
GAME NOTES
- NKU shot 25.9 percent from the field, going 15-for-58, while Belmont went 22-for-59 for 37.3 percent.
- Belmont had a 51-33 rebounding advantage, holding NKU to three second-chance points.
- Northern Kentucky continued to keep its turnovers low, committing just 10 miscues while forcing Belmont into 15. The Norse scored nine points off turnovers while Belmont scored 15.
- The Bruins edged the Norse in the paint, 32-22.

- The Norse return home to host Omaha on Thursday, Nov. 21. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game will serve as NKU's food drive, which provides free admission with the donation of a canned item. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN3.
