HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's tennis is back home on Saturday, Feb. 16, with a match against Dayton before heading down to Lexington, Kentucky for a Sunday match against No. 23 Kentucky. First serve against the Flyers is set for 5 p.m. at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, while the Norse face the Wildcats at 4 p.m.
 
The Norse enter the weekend sporting a 2-3 record and have seen strong play in the top flight in both singles and doubles. Margita Sunjic holds a 4-1 record in No. 1 singles, while Taylor Culbertson and Maria Koo are 3-1 as NKU's top tandem. Both losses came at Atlantic Coast Conference foe Louisville. NKU is coming off a 5-2 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) after winning the doubles point along with No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 singles.
 
The Flyers are currently 1-3, and the team also notched a 5-2 victory over Saint Francis. Dayton's opponents so far are also all on NKU's schedule, with the Flyers dropping 7-0 decisions to Ball State, Youngstown State and IUPUI. While YSU and IUPUI appear on the Horizon League slate, NKU faced Ball State in its third match of the season and narrowly lost to the Cardinals, 4-3.
 
Kentucky sits at 5-1 this season, most recently dropping a 4-1 match to Ohio State. Prior to the setback, the Wildcats had surrendered just one point in its previous five matches. Justina Mikulskyte is undefeated at the No. 1 spot and posted a dominant 6-0, 6-3 victory over Ohio State's Shiori Fukuda and is currently ranked No. 94 nationally. Her Lithuanian compatriot, Akvile Paražinskaite, holds down the No. 2 singles spot and the duo teams up for the top flight in doubles action. The pair was narrowly edged by the Ohio State tandem that holds the No. 29 ranking in the country.
