HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's tennis returns home to Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, to host in-state opponent Western Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 22. First serve against the Hilltoppers is set for 7 p.m. ET.
The Norse are coming off a 1-1 weekend, taking down Dayton, 5-2, before falling 5-1 to No. 23 Kentucky.
Elizabeth Rozin went 2-0 in singles action during the weekend and was named the Nike® Horizon League Women's Singles Player of the Week. Rozin was one of just two singles players to take a point off of the Wildcats on their home court this season as Kentucky had blanked five of their seven opponents at home.
Western Kentucky has yet to win a match this season, holding an 0-7 record. Additionally, the Hilltoppers have been blanked in every outing this season, most recently a 4-0 setback against UAB. Laura Bernardos tops the singles lineup and teams up with Lisa Friess in No. 1 doubles. The duo has posted WKU's lone doubles win of the season in a 6-1 decision over North Texas' Tamuna Kutubidze and Maria Kononova.
The two teams last met on March 13, 2014, when the Norse came away with a 5-1 victory in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
