INDIANAPOLIS – After being named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® 2 Team a week ago, Northern Kentucky women's basketball sophomore Kailey Coffey was named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team. Coffey earns the distinction for the first time in her career and she is one of seven student-athletes represented by four Horizon League institutions to earn the nod.
 
In order to be selected to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests and have completed a year at the member school in addition to holding at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Coffey meets the standards easily as she has started all 26 games for the Norse and holds a perfect 4.00 grade point average in chemistry.
 
Aside from her academic prowess, Coffey has been instrumental for the Norse on the court. The sophomore forward leads the team with 8.2 rebounds per game, which has increased to 9.4 boards per contest in league action, putting her at second in Horizon League rankings. Coffey also averages 7.3 points and 2.2 assists per game while playing a team-high 29.5 minutes per game. She has posted two double-doubles this season, including 15 points and 11 rebounds at then-No. 3 Louisville.
 
The Norse return to the floor this afternoon when the team takes on Oakland at 4 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
