HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's tennis hosts Saint Francis (Pa.) in its next contest, welcoming the Red Flash to Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, on Saturday, Feb. 9. First serve against Saint Francis is set for 5 p.m. ET.
Northern Kentucky sits at 1-3 this year, most recently falling to Lipscomb. NKU has been strong at the top of the lineup in both singles and doubles, as
Margita Sunjic holds a 3-1 record in No.1 singles while
Maria Koo and
Taylor Culbertson are 3-1 in No. 1 doubles, with both losses coming against Louisville.
Saint Francis is currently 1-5 this year, with a 4-3 victory against Morgan State. The Norse will be the third Horizon League opponent for the Red Flash as SFU suffered a 6-1 loss to Youngstown State and a 5-2 setback to Detroit Mercy. The team is also taking on Wright State on Sunday, as well as regional foe Dayton this evening. Romina Cutipa has posted the most victories for the team, sitting at 3-3 in No. 5 singles. The Red Flash also have a solid doubles team in Raksha Bode and Lucia Seigford, posting a 3-3 mark at the top of the lineup.
NKU and Saint Francis last met on Jan. 14, 2017 in a neutral-site game in Dayton, Ohio. The Norse were victorious in a 6-1 decision.
