COLUMBUS – Northern Kentucky men's tennis took down Wooster in a neutral-site match on Friday afternoon, 6-1. With the victory, the Norse move to 3-6 on the season while the Fighting Scots drop to 3-3.
Match Notables
- NKU won the doubles point with wins at the top of the lineup. Aleksander Sadal and Jorge Rodriguez Agudo downed Austin Hanna and Nathan Devereux in No. 1 doubles, 6-3, while Blaine Carr and Anthony Bosch picked up a 6-3 win over Jesse DeWitt and Nebyou Minnasie in the No. 2 spot.
- Rodriguez Agudo put the Norse up 2-0 with a straight-set win over Devereux in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
- Nathan Schwartz had a three-set victory over Hanna at the top of the flight, dropping the first set, 6-4, before rattling off a pair of 6-1 sets for the win.
- Felipe Hidalgo provided the clinching point in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-0 over DeWitt.
- Nick Elleman and Carr also provided points for the Norse. Elleman recorded a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win over Minassie in No. 6 singles, while Carr defeated Joaquin Abos Amo in a competitive No. 2 singles match, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6.
NKU is right back on the court tomorrow, traveling to face Niagara at 4 p.m. ET.
