MILWAUKEE – Northern Kentucky women's tennis was edged by Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon, 4-3. The Norse drop to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in league play while the Panthers move to 10-8 (3-2 Horizon).
Match Notables
- Milwaukee used wins on the No. 1 and 2 doubles courts to take the opening point.
- Taylor Culbertson evened the score with a victory out of No. 4 singles, not surrendering one game to Agata Jurczak in a pair of 6-0 sets.
- The Panthers posted a win on the No. 6 court, but Margita Sunjic tied it up once more with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Alex Belle in the top flight. She has defeated 17 league opponents in straight sets during her career.
- Following a Milwaukee win in No. 3 singles, Maria Koo wrapped up a three-set win over Mayya Perova in No. 2 singles to tie the contest up one last time, defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-7(7), 6-2.
- Katja Dijanezevic posted a 6-0 win over Nikki Milner in the opening set of the deciding match in No. 5 singles, but Milner pushed a third set with a 6-4 second set and won the match for the Panthers with a 7-5 third set.
