HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky women's basketball head coach
Camryn Whitaker announced the addition of Janna Lewis for the 2019-20 season, who signed with the program on Wednesday afternoon.
Lewis comes to NKU after playing two seasons at Motlow State Community College in Tennessee. The 5-9 forward averaged 22.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game last season, ranking fifth and 14
th in the NJCAA, respectively, and was named to the NJCAA All-America Second Team. Lewis also pulled in first team all-conference honors in both campaigns and was named the 2018 Tennessee Community College Athletic Association Freshman of the Year and 2019 TCCAA Offensive Player of the Year and Co-MVP. In just two seasons with the Lady Bucks, Lewis netted 1,153 points and pulled down 585 rebounds to go with 102 assists.
Prior to her time at Motlow State, Lewis was a two-time state champion at Butler Traditional High School in Louisville, Kentucky. The Bears went 119-17 in the four years that Lewis spent on the roster, and Lewis earned All-Sixth Region and all-tournament honors in her junior season. Lewis also lettered in track and field, claiming a state crown in the shot put.
