HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team closed out their 2019 preseason schedule on Saturday night at NKU Soccer stadium, tying Morehead State, 1-1.
"I thought there were stretches of the game where we played really well and had a commitment to the game with intensity and that there were other stretches that we obviously need more out of our individual players," said head coach Bob Sheehan. "I think the important thing to take away here is that we've got a lot of players who want to get on the field who didn't start and their efforts were fantastic tonight. If we can get that type of intensity off the bench, then our team is going to continue to grow and improve."
"The first-half was pretty rocky for us," said Kailey Ivins, who scored the only Norse goal of the night. "We talked in the locker room about how we've only been together for two weeks and we're kind of a younger team as well. We were just kind of getting through the pains of the first half by making sure we were on the same page, like running where I want to play the ball or just people connecting passes. It's all stuff that will come in time."

- Megan Patrick found Ivins in the 60th minute to give the Norse their only goal of the night.
