HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's women's tennis is set to host in-state opponent Western Kentucky in its first home match of the year at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, on Saturday, January 25. First serve against the Hilltoppers is set for 4:30 p.m.
The Norse are coming off a 1-1 weekend, taking down Dayton, 6-1, after falling 5-2 to Kentucky. Multiple Norse went 1-1 in singles play while
Katja Dijanezevic went 2-0 in singles action during the weekend and was named the Horizon League Women's Singles Player of the Week.
Western Kentucky has started off their season hot, holding a 3-0 record after taking down Butler, 4-3, Western Illinois, 7-0, and Horizon League opponent IUPUI, 5-2. The Hilltoppers return the top-three players from last season, who have been moved down in the lineup this season with the addition of transfers Cora-Lynn von Dungern and Tristen Bryant-Otake.
The Norse are tied with the Hilltoppers in the all-time series, 2-2. The two teams last met on February 22, 2019, when the Norse came away with a 6-1 victory.
